As part of the Mois de la Francophonie, time during which we celebrate French language and culture, the French Institute of Norway, in partnership with Friedrikstad Animation Festival and Vega Scene in Oslo are organizing a special event on French animation with the screening of the feature film, My Life in Versailles<\/em>, co-directed by Cl\u00e9mence Madeleine-Perdrillat and Nathaniel H\u2019limi, on Thursday March 19 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The director and screenwriter from My Life in Versailles<\/em> will come to present her film, from its conception to its filmmaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The screening, Cesar award-nominated, will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience and a mingle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film appears with original French speech and English subtitles.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cl\u00e9mence Madeleine-Perdrillat<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

After studying modern literature at Sorbonne Nouvelle University, Cl\u00e9mence Madeleine-Perdrillat began her career as a screenwriter and director with short stories before devoting herself entirely to writing screenplays for film, television, and new streaming platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has collaborated on several notable series, including \u00ab UFOs \u00bb and \u00ab Nox \u00bb for Canal+, \u00ab Mixte \u00bb for Amazon Prime, before co-creating \u00ab Nona and Her Daughters \u00bb alongside Val\u00e9rie Donzelli on ARTE. She recently headed up the writing of season 2 of HBO\u2019s \u00ab In Treatment \u00bb French adaptation and co-wrote several episodes of the series \u00ab Class Act \u00bb (BAFTA for Best International Programme in 2024 – Netflix) and \u00ab Drops of God \u00bb (International Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series in 2024 – France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions and Apple+).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, she created the series \u00ab Irresistible \u00bb on Disney+ on her own, for which she also served as artistic director. The following year, she directed the children’s animated series \u00ab My Life in Versailles \u00bb, co-directed with Nathaniel H’Limi, which won two awards at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. At the end of 2025, \u00ab My Life in Versailles \u00bb became a feature film distributed in France, and will be released in 2026 in several territories around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2022, she has been co-director of the Series department at FEMIS, where she mentors new generations of screenwriters. She is currently working on several film and series projects, including a 4×52\u2019 minutes series for ARTE in post-production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Synopsis of the film<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the passing of the parents, eight-year-old VIolet was sent to live with her uncle, Regis, a rough caretaker at the Palace of Versailles. After a slightly bumpy start, Violet and Regis learn how to live together and act life’s challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through Violet’s experiences from a complex friendship, her first love and a trip to her grandparents, Violet and Regis create, slowly but surely a new life together, enriched with adventures and emotional moments in the heart of Versailles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
