The French Embassy in Norway is offering unique scholarships to participate in the French+Sciences summer schools! Developed by Campus France in partnership with French as a Foreign Language (FLE) centers, universities, engineering schools, and companies, French+Sciences is designed for international students who may be complete beginners in French.

Montpellier : « Focus on Sustainable Development »

Dates of the session : From June 8th to June 26th

With its long and proud tradition of science and higher learning, Montpellier is internationally renowned for research in the fields of health, agronomy, and the environment. It is also the birthplace of modern medicine.

Brest : « Sciences and Technology of the Sea »

Dates of the sessions : From June 18th to July 10th / then August 10th to August 28th

Ciel Bretagne offers a program of visits to companies and state- of-the-art laboratories, conferences on current and future challenges facing the engineering professions, and courses in French as a foreign language. The program also includes a wide selection of excursions and cultural visits.

Besançon : « Micro, Nano & Smart Technologies for Industrial Applications »

Dates of the session : From June 1st to June 26th

Designed for English-speaking science students, the program includes French as a Foreign Language (FLE) classes from A1 to B2 level, meetings with researchers, laboratory visits (including FEMTO-ST and ICB) organized by PhD students, as well as a wide range of excursions and cultural activities.

Dates of the session : From June 1st to June 26th

The program is designed for future engineers and scientists who will face the complexity of AI applications in science, both in research and in more applied contexts. It addresses AI from a technological perspective, explores its innovative potential, and offers an ethical reflection on its uses, which will serve as a unifying theme throughout the program.

Chambery & Annecy : « Outdoor sports»

Dates of the session : From May 29th to June 22nd

Participants will have the opportunity to practice outdoor sports in a beautiful French region known for its mountainous landscape, broaden their knowledge in sports science and practise their French. This rich and varied three-week program combines outdoor sports activities and scientific aspects taught in English with French classes starting at beginner level.

Program Structure

The French+Sciences program offers a unique approach combining French language teaching with scientific modules mainly taught in English, allowing students to develop their skills in French.

Activities fully taught in English

Scientific modules include company and laboratory visits, presentations of engineering training programs, thematic debates, and more. Cultural activities, held on weekends, include a program of cultural visits to explore the attractions of the regions where the program takes place.

The French learning process includes 15 hours of French as a foreign language instruction per week, helping students to quickly develop their oral and written communication skills.

Some of the summer schools offer ECTS credits!

How to Apply for the French+Sciences Scholarships

The French Embassy in Norway will award up to 10 French+ scholarships to the best candidates for the 2026 edition. The French+Sciences scholarships cover the following costs:

  • Tuition fees (training and cultural activities)
  • Accommodation (usually in university residences)
  • International travel to the training location
  • Social coverage (including civil liability insurance)

The call for applications is open until 10 April 2026 (11:59 p.m.). Results will be announced in late April/early May 2026.
