Summer School

The French Embassy in Norway is offering exceptional scholarships to participate in the French+Gastronomy or French+Hospitality summer school!

In the heart of Rouen, the first French city designated as a “City of Gastronomy” by UNESCO, Campus France has partnered with the FAUCHON School and the French as a Foreign Language (FLE) center French in Normandy to offer two programs in emblematic sectors of French expertise. These programs combine language learning, professional experiences, and cultural discovery. They are designed for English-speaking students, and complete beginners in French language are welcome (B2 level in English is required).

At the FAUCHON School, students will discover the professions of top chefs, pastry chefs, chocolatiers… They will meet cheese producers, market gardeners, fishmongers, sommeliers… They will also have the opportunity to explore the hospitality sector by visiting prestigious establishments.

The Gastronomy and Hospitality modules include culinary workshops and gastronomic demonstrations, hotel and restaurant visits, presentations of specialized training in culinary arts and hospitality management, as well as meetings with industry professionals.

On weekends, cultural excursions will be organized to explore Rouen and the Normandy region.

The program

The French+Gastronomy sessions offer an original combination of French language instruction and modules taught in English. Three sessions are available for the French+Gastronomy scholarships:

  • 1 -19 June 2026
  • 22 June -10 July 2026
  • 13 – 31 July 2026

French+Hospitality Brochure

The French+Hospitality program combines theory, hands-on workshops, and professional encounters, offering participants a complete and practical overview of the hospitality and luxury sectors in France. Students discover the codes of French hospitality, the art of welcoming guests, and customer experience management. They explore guesthouses and boutique hotels, and take part in practical workshops and role‑playing activities to personalize the customer experience while understanding operational excellence.

This program emphasizes the sensory and emotional dimensions of hospitality, participants with concrete skills to pursue careers in the hotel and luxury industries in France.

One session is available for the French+Hospitality scholarships:

  • 1–19 June 2026

How to Apply for the French+Gastronomy or French+Hospitality Scholarships ?

The French Embassy in Norway will award up to 10 French+ scholarships to the best candidates for the 2026 edition. The scholarships cover the following costs:

  • Tuition fees (training and cultural activities)
  • Accommodation (generally in a university residence)
  • International travel to the training location
  • Social coverage (including civil liability insurance)

The call for applications is open until 10 April 2026 (11:59 p.m.). Results will be announced in late April/early May 2026.
