The Night of Ideas is back for a new edition!
Since 2016, the Night of Ideas has brought together thousands of people each year in nearly 190 cities around the world with a shared goal: to foster dialogue among ideas, knowledge, and cultures.
Coordinated internationally by the Institut français, the Night of Ideas returns to Oslo for a new edition on Wednesday, September 30, at 18:00 at Cinemateket i Oslo.
A new edition on the topic of artificial intelligence and mental health
Recent advances in artificial intelligence have profoundly transformed many fields, including mental health. A growing number of digital tools, such as psychological support apps and chatbots, claim to offer therapeutic assistance accessible to all.
This development, however, raises numerous questions. Can these devices truly be considered effective forms of therapy? Do they not risk diminishing the essential human dimension of the patient-therapist relationship? While some see them as a way to broaden access to care and improve patient monitoring, others denounce a potential dehumanization of the therapeutic process.
Thus, the question arises: does artificial intelligence represent a beneficial advancement for mental therapies, or a threat to the quality of patient care?
