The call for applications for the Åsgard Horizon program is open until November 15, 2026. Apply now (fill out the form at the bottom of the page) to organize Franco-Norwegian scientific events aimed at building and developing ambitious research networks and laying the groundwork for large-scale international projects.
The scientific department of the French Institute in Norway, together with the Norwegian Research Council, the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, are pleased to announce the launch of the call for applications for the Åsgard Horizon 2027 program.
Åsgard Horizon is a French-Norwegian program to support the organization of scientific conferences, workshops and meetings of experts. This support is allocated to researchers of research laboratories associated with higher education establishments or research organizations in France and in Norway. Åsgard Horizon funds scientific projects that aims to:
- Structure and develop ambitious research network;
- Develop a long-term, structured scientific collaboration to apply for Horizon Europe and FP 10 calls;
- Prepare proposals for large-scale collaborative projects, whether international or bilateral, with the aim of securing European funding.
Projects may include one or more additional partners, only French and Norwegian actors will be eligible for the funding program.
Special attention will be given to projects whose topics are among the priorities of Franco-Norwegian cooperation, including:
▪ Climate Science
i. Climate System
ii. Climate Impacts
iii. Mitigation, Adaptation, and
Resilience to Climate Change
▪ Biodiversity, Pollution, and Habitat Loss
▪ Land Use Planning and Conservation
▪ Cultural Heritage
▪ Circular Economy
and/or of the European Union’s Horizon Europe framework program for research and innovation.
Priority will be given to collaborative projects with European dimension.
The funding is granted for two consecutive years (with a maximum of approximately 44000NOK per year). It covers the organization of a scientific event in France and a scientific event in Norway.

Publication date of results: December 2026
Project start date: January 2027
