Åsgard Horizon is a programme that aims to strengthen French-Norwegian research cooperation by supporting the organisation of scientific conferences, workshops and meetings of experts. The objectives of the programme are to structure and develop ambitious research networks and to facilitate the development of european projects.
The programme is funded in Norway by the Norwegian Research Council (NFR), and in France by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Space (MESRE). It is managed by the scientific department of the French Institute of Norway.
| Who: French and Norwegian research teams. Projects may include one or more additional partners, only French and Norwegian actors will be eligible for the funding programme. When: The programme is spread over two consecutive years. Particular attention will be paid to long-term cooperation projects. How: Organisation of a scientific event in France and a scientific event in Norway. Priority will be given in particular to collaborative projects with a European dimension. All areas of research will be considered, but particular attention will be given to the following topics: ▪ Climate science i. Climate system ii. Climate impacts iii. Mitigation, adaptation, and resilience to climate change ▪ Biodiversity, pollution, and habitat loss ▪ Land use planning and conservation ▪ Cultural heritage ▪ Circular economy Call for applications: Online submission of applications on the French Institute in Norway’s website beginning in September; the call closes on November 15 (inclusive). |
- CVs of the participants for whom funding is requested and the name and contact details of the
main contact person. - Description of the planned research project (3 pages maximum), specifying the objectives in terms of cooperation (funding requests and future call for applications envisaged,
etc.). Both Norwegian and French teams should provide the same joint document here. - Description of the research project (maximum 3 pages), explaining in particular the objectives related to cooperation (identified European projects such as Horizon Europe or FP10 for which the group wishes to apply, planned funding applications, types of calls for proposals to which the group intends to apply, etc.)
- A provisional budget indicating the amount of the grant requested by the team.
