The screening will start with a French goûter («galettes des rois») and will be followed by a discussion with Stefaniya Kamenova, a reindeer specialist, and accompanied by a French buffet.
Aïlo: une odyssée en Laponie, between tale and documentary, tells “a story of a wild reindeer calf’s fight for survival, frail and vulnerable in the face of the trials and tribulations of its first year. His awakening to the wild world is a true tale in the heart of the grandiose landscapes of Lapland.». The movie will be in French with English subtitles.
The film presents the evolution of reindeers over a year and raises the two major problems currently facing their species: increasing urbanisation and climate change.
Stefaniya Kamenova*, a reindeer specialist, will be present at the event to answer questions from the public after the screening.
